Two massive new swimming pools are currently under construction in Norway and will soon be shipped to Dubai to be installed in the Burj al Arab, it was reported on Sunday. The two pools are said to be of “mega size” and the famous Dubai hotel could see the new pools open to customers by next March – As reported by sources.
The news comes as Gerald Lawless, president and CEO of Jumeriah Group, hinted last week that the luxury hotelier may be set to expand the iconic Burj Al Arab.
Speaking at the Conde Nast Traveller Forum in Dubai, Lawless put up a slide of the Burj Al Arab, and said “if you look closely, you may notice something different.”
The ocean facing side of the hotel had a large expanded triangular area in white, showing what looked like an expanded beach and possibly retail/restaurant facility. “We will be announcing something soon,” Lawless added.
The Burj al Arab opened in December 1999 and, at 280 metres, it is the third tallest hotel in the world.
